This is whateva

Whateva! I'm Brian and I do whateva. I sing and dance and fly on occasion, but mostly, I don't. But I can and you, be jealous. When I dance I sing, but I don't always dance when I sing. Sometimes I like to spread peanut butter on a bagel and put it in a toaster oven, or, put a bagel in a toaster, pop it up, then put peanut butter on it. I don't eat it, just throw it outside. I love wine, and, by love, I mean I adore it. I drink it often and much at a time. I get drunk a lot because of this give and take love-fest. Wine gives me flavor and I take the drunk. I give wine a home and it takes no time at all to get me drunk. I think we should launch hugs across borders. I believe in God. Maybe I believe in your God, but, I don't think God is yours. You are God's. So I should say, instead, I may believe in the God in which you believe. I don't like religion. I enjoy spirituality. I enjoy thought. I write often though this may be no good testament to the frequency I put down words. Whateva. I have an affinity for the road. I have a passion for Portland. I find what so many claim to be "reality" cumbersome. I strive for an existence not as mundane as those in the "real world." You may know what I'm talking about. If not, whateva. (to be continued)

I was listening to an interview with the director of Zeitgeist that took place last year on AM Coast-to-Coast, which is probably the most enlightening (or terrifying, depending on how stoned you are - and, as you're listening to AM radio, you must be to some degree) program broadcast across regulated frequencies, and they came to a bit of a side note quite, quite unintentionally, and only for a moment, where the question of the correct pronoun to use when referencing God. (Holy crap that was some kind of Forrest Gump sentence. Melville would be proud.) It was offhand, just "He - or She - or It..." and I thought: "Or Us," which at first I thought pretentious but then I realized that a truly divine "Us" has no "Them" - the "them" is just more of "Us" made of stardust and wonder and oceans and insight. Life, even without the Earth, will find seas in which to sprawl. We are older than the Earth. We take new forms, only new in the sense that they are different from the old. There is no new. Only renew. We have lived forever in various forms. We will continue our forms until the universe has run out of skies into which we can fall. There is no 'universe' without u 'n I. There will always be birth and there will always be destruction and there will always be Us.
